If you can’t make the concert, come along on the weekend to see the magnificent flower displays. We will be serving light lunches and teas throughout the weekend at our local Victorian Village Hall.  The weekend’s events will conclude on Sunday evening the 20th at 6:00pm with a Special Evensong Service.  No charge to attend the service, a freewill collection will be taken.

Salisbury Cathedral Flower Festival 17th – 21st June 2008

Copseys were thrilled to be the sole supplier to this 750th Anniversary

Event Designer – Michael Bowyer

salisbury

Michael Bowyer, NAFAS National Judge and Demonstrator, recently had this to say to Copseys:

Dear John

At last I have found a moment to thank you and your team for the excellent job you did at Salisbury Cathedral for the recent flower festival celebrating the 750th anniversary of the completion of the building.

As this was the first occasion on which I had worked in this way, i.e. central ordering of flowers, I was a little apprehensive at the start – however – all fears were completely unfounded as your organisation and flower quality were superb.

Central ordering meant that all the areas of the cathedral needing a uniform look appeared stunning, something which did not happen at a previous festival when everyone bought their own flowers. The pictures on the cathedral`s website bear this out.

The other main advantage was that it considerably cut down the unloading time for when the arrangers arrived all their flowers were waiting for them in buckets in the right place in the cathedral. It also meant less vehicles and less carrying, and the arrangers did not have to spend time buying and conditioning.

The ordering sheets worked well and coupled with Clare`s meticulous filing systems there were no errors.

Everyone has also commented on the lasting qualities of your flowers, the vast majority looked as good on the Sunday as they did when they were arranged on the previous Monday.

With 550 arrangers and nearly 20,000 visitors I think the event can safely be called a success. This is due in no small part to Copseys, and I hope Guildford works out just as well.

Michael Bowyer
